Convenor Course

Convenor Course

Convenor Courses are being offered in Brisbane, Bundaberg, Toowoomba and Sunshine Coast during terms 1 and 2, 2019. The feedback from our first group was great - with all learning something new and saying they would recommend the course to other convenors

QUESTION!
Tuckshops who are open for breakfast - what time do you serve and when do your staff start?

Convenor starts at 5 am. We do hash browns, bacon and egg burgers, breakfast wraps, fruit salad, sometimes muffins. Also weet bix, though not very popular. The day's sandwiches and wraps are ready to go and there is yoghurt and bircher museli. Service starts at 8 until roll call at 8.20. We serve up to about 200 students, some days more if it is rowing season. Convenor often on her own, but there is a roster of students who are doing their community service for Duke of Edinburgh or sometimes a volunteer parent from about 7am.

Convenor starts 730. Brekky 8-840. Convenor takes orders ( money handling etc). Volunteer makes mainly toast and milo. Same volunteer every day as she has to do xx number of hours per week for Centrelink benefit.

We open at 7.30 for students and teachers. Being close to town we are in competition with Mc Donalds etc so need to available for all our students and staff.

We offer toast with butter, jam, vegemite or honey. It's a free breakfast everyday, we start serving at 8:20am and it is run in the tuckshop with a volunteer and year 6 students.

We have breaky club chappy does. Staff back some on Monday and rest Wednesday which I cater for their PD meetings plus I am Uniform shop too open all week.

The last school I was at we started at 7 and breakfast ran from 8am until 8:40am

We just offer raisin toast/toast with jam or vegemite, cup of milk/juice box, fruit salad cup. All our staff start at 8am, service officially from 815 but the ladies often open up straight away.
