Partnering for Success: Healthy Eats Program
Creating Healthier Children Across Queensland
Healthy Eats is an innovative nutrition program developed by Life Education Queensland. Taking a whole school approach, the program aims to increase fruit and vegetable consumption among primary school children. Facilitated by Community Development Officers, Healthy Eats supports school communities to identify and implement a variety of initiatives to empower students to make healthier food and drink choices.
Schools participating in the Healthy Eats program receive a free annual QAST membership for their tuckshop, providing schools with a wealth of information and support to create healthier, profitable menus that are Smart Choices compliant.
Schools can also choose to become Healthy Eats Accredited. Successful schools receive a range of rewards and recognition including a grant to help continue their healthy eating journey.
