A Point of Sale (POS) system allows for the processing and recording of transactions between the tuckshop and its customers. Finding the right POS system for your school community is important as it will help in the running of an efficient tuckshop.
Advice from Education Queensland:
P&Cs are free to use any financial institution for their EFTPOS machine. However, no POS systems should use the school Wi-Fi to connect to the internet. A Telstra dongle or ‘hot-spotting’ from mobile devices should be used to provide coverage.
If a tuckshop, or other business requiring EFTPOS facilities, is run by the school (and not the P&C), all POS systems must be Commonwealth Bank of Australia-approved.

In the spirit of reconciliation, the Queensland Association of School Tuckshops acknowledges the Traditional Owners and custodians of the lands across Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. We pay our respect to Elders past, present and emerging, and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today. We recognise that Aboriginal peoples and Torres Strait Islander peoples each have their own unique languages, beliefs, cultural practices, traditions and diversity within each culture.
