2023 Tuckshop Day Celebrations

On Friday, 3 November, tuckshops across Queensland were recognised and celebrated for their tireless work and dedication to their school communities.

Our hearts were warmed to see the outpouring of love from students, principals and parent bodies.

We saw beautiful bunches of flowers, delivered lovingly to hard working tuckshop staff.

We saw special cakes and baked goodies, ready to be enjoyed at special morning teas.

We saw school principals take the reins and serve the students over the counter.

We saw special certificates presented at assemblies.

We saw our local MPs and Councillors pop in to say recognise and say thank you on behalf of their communities.

We saw tuckshops decorated with student art and crafts.

We saw hand-made cards, signed by the smallest members of the school community.

We saw you dress up and have fun on your special day.

Take a look at some of the Tuckshop Day highlights from 2023.

Tuckshop Day, an initiative of the Department of Education, is held on the first Friday in November.

It is a day to recognise and give a special thank you to all tuckshop workers and volunteers across Queensland state schools.

It also highlights the important role tuckshops play in school life. Providing nutritious food and drinks means families can have one less task to worry about at the start of their day and helps students to concentrate and learn well in class.

Tuckshop Day will return in 2024 on 1 November.
