School tuckshop upgrade grant recipients announcement

The Eat Right, Play Right, Learn Well program launched in 2022 with a $20 million fund for playground and tuckshop upgrades at schools in high-priority, disadvantaged communities.

The program was so popular with state schools that it was oversubscribed.

As part of the Queensland Government’s Equity and Excellence commitment, the 2023–24 State Budget delivered $29 million in extra funding for school playground and tuckshop upgrades.

The program will help more school communities promote healthy behaviours that support learning and get kids moving, starting with the fundamentals of healthy eating and play.

Successful applicants

Applications for the initial School playground and tuckshops upgrade program closed on 31 March 2023. The prioritisation and assessment process is continuing, with 150 schools  having been identified for funding to date.

For any enquiries, please email PriorityPrograms.StrategicInvestment@qed.qld.gov.au.
