On Friday, 7 November, tuckshops across Queensland were celebrated for the incredible work they do every day to nourish and support their school communities.
Our hearts were full seeing the outpouring of appreciation from students, principals and parents alike.
There were beautiful bouquets delivered to hardworking tuckshop teams. There were cakes and sweet treats shared at special morning teas. There were colourful decorations and student-made artworks brightening tuckshop spaces. There were hand-crafted cards filled with heartfelt messages from the youngest members of the school community. And of course, there were fun outfits, big smiles, and plenty of laughter.
Here’s a look back at some of the wonderful moments from Tuckshop Day 2025 ❤️
Tuckshop Day, an initiative of the Department of Education, is held on the first Friday in November.
It is a day to recognise and give a special thank you to all tuckshop workers and volunteers across Queensland state schools.
It also highlights the important role tuckshops play in school life. Providing nutritious food and drinks means families can have one less task to worry about at the start of their day and helps students to concentrate and learn well in class.
Tuckshop Day will return in 2026 on 6 November.
