School tuckshop and canteen managers and P&C members from across the Fraser Coast gathered on Tuesday, 13 May 2025 for a vibrant and insightful networking event, designed to share ideas, celebrate achievements, and build stronger connections between school communities.
Hosted at Fraser Coast Anglican College, the event brought together over 20 tuckshop managers and coordinators, offering a valuable opportunity to collaborate, discuss common challenges, and explore new approaches to healthy, efficient tuckshop management.

The afternoon was led by QAST Healthier Tuckshops Project Manager, Naomi and Fraser Coast Anglican College Canteen Manager and former MRK-winner, Dan Mulheron, who discussed all things tuckshops, sharing insightful tips and ideas to make them thrive.
One of the event highlights was a live demonstration of Dan’s award-winning brownies, which sparked enthusiastic discussion and recipe swapping. QAST suggested this delicious Black Bean and Raspberry Brownie; a healthy and cost-effective option for both primary and secondary school tuckshops.
Attendees praised the event for its friendly atmosphere, practical advice, and sense of shared purpose.

QAST has received strong interest in extending the in-person Healthier Tuckshops Network Meetings to other regions, underscoring the value of building community and collaboration in school food services.
