Bundaberg Visit – 27 – 30 October 2025

Run a school tuckshop and keen to squeeze some professional development in this year? Want to meet other convenors from around the Bundaberg region to see how they do things in their tuckshop or canteen?

We’re excited to announce that we’re coming to Bundaberg in Week 4, Term 4, 2025.

While in town, we’ll be running a face-to-face Tuckshop Management Course, as well as a Healthier Tuckshops Network Meeting.

We also have some availability for a Tuckshop Tuneup for any schools interested in a full review of their tuckshop service.

Tuckshop Management Course | 28 October

Our Tuckshop Management Course covers everything you need to know to run an efficient and profitable tuckshop business.

This is your chance to get in a room with us and other local tuckshop managers as we cover everything from policies and procedures to menu planning, costing, pricing and markup, as well as marketing and working with your school community.

This course isn’t just for new convenors… it’s the perfect chance for you to brush up on your knowledge, develop your management skills and learn how to make your tuckshop thrive.

Course details:

  • Cost: $150 for members and non-members (prices inclusive of GST)
  • Date: Tuesday, 28 October 2025
  • Time: 9.30am – 2.30pm
  • Where: Walkervale State School
  • Trainer: Naomi Blines
  • Register: Complete the enrolment form

Note: No assessment is required for the course. Participants will receive a Certificate of Completion at the end of the day.

Healthier Tuckshops Networking Afternoon | 28 October

Join the QAST team (Naomi and Chrissy), along with special guests Alex Thompson, Bundaberg Pick of the Crop Coordinator, and Melanie Verwimp, Kalkie State School Tuckshop Convenor, for an afternoon of sharing and connecting with other local tuckshop staff and supporters.

Come along to:

  • Learn practical tips for healthier menus
  • Discover how Pick of the Crop can support your tuckshop
  • Ask questions and share your own experiences.

Melanie will also give a tour of their school garden, and share ideas on how to integrate fresh food into your menu.

Light refreshments will be provided.
