10Wholemeal or wholegrain rolls
500gBeef mince, lean
1Onion, finely diced
1Egg
2cupsBreadcrumbs (fresh)
0.25cupFlour
2tbspDried herbs
3tspGarlic, crushed
1Onion, finely diced
2cansCrushed tomatoes
2tbspOregano (dried)

Method

  1. Combine meat ball ingredients (beef mince, 1 onion, egg, breadcrumbs, flour, dried herbs) and form into small walnut size balls and brown in a pan using olive oil. Put aside.
  2. For sauce fry onion and garlic, add canned tomatoes and oregano. Simmer until reduced.
  3. Add meatballs and continue to simmer until heated through and sauce is thickened.
