Halloween Tuckshop Ideas
Celebrated each year on 31 October, Halloween is a favourite with the kids and a great opportunity to get creative in the tuckshop. If you’re thinking of joining in the spooky fun by offering special meal deals or treats, we’ve pulled together some fun (and healthy) options to include on your menu.
Basic Tomato Pasta Sauce
This is a great base recipe for a variety of different dishes. You can make it in bulk and store it in the freezer to repurpose it in several different ways including pasta, lasagne, pizza sauce and baked beans.
Savoury Mince
This savoury mince is a twist on an old classic. It can be made with fresh, frozen or tinned vegetables, whatever you have on hand. It also has plenty of flavour without added salt. A favourite with the kids!
Sticky Date and Pear Muffins
These tasty muffins are made without any added sugar as the sweetness from the dates and pears provides a delicious caramel flavour.
Greek Chicken Bowl
A delicious nourishing bowl, packed full of fresh salad and lean protein, with a flavour explosion from the overnight marinade.
Beef Burrito
This Mexican burrito is slightly spicy and definitely flavourful. This on trend food product appeals to students as it reminds them of popular take-away foods.
